Part 1 India visit

Upon my arrival at Indore Airport at approximately 7:00 a.m. on May 25th, it was evident that the city had made significant strides in cleanliness, earning the recognition as the cleanest city in India for six consecutive years. This positive transformation was particularly notable as there were no cows roaming the streets, a stark contrast to our visit a decade ago when Indore had a reputation for being unclean. While the claim of being the cleanest city may not be entirely accurate, the undeniable improvement was apparent. However, as we ventured beyond the airport, we encountered stray dogs in the vicinity, indicating areas that still require attention. The condition of the roads during our journey from the airport to our house was quite deplorable, riddled with potholes, bumps, and open gutters scattered throughout the city. Additionally, the traffic situation was nothing short of a nightmare, with a majority of people disregarding traffic signals and driving recklessly. Many ...

Indore at First Glance: A City Transforming Towards Cleanliness

Upon arriving at Indore airport at approximately 7:00 a.m., it was evident that the city has made significant progress in cleanliness, having been recognized as the cleanest city in India for six consecutive years. This positive change was especially noticeable as there were no cows roaming around the city, unlike our visit ten years ago when Indore was notorious for its uncleanliness. Although the claim of being the cleanest city might not be entirely accurate, the improvement is undeniable. However, as we ventured out of the airport, we encountered stray dogs in the vicinity, indicating that there are still areas for improvement. The condition of the roads while traveling from the airport to our house was quite terrible, filled with potholes, bumps, and open gutters scattered throughout the city. Moreover, the traffic situation was a nightmare, with a majority of people disregarding traffic signals and driving recklessly. Many intersections lacked traffic signals altogether, lea...

The Transforming Power of Pentecost: Living in the Spirit

The Transforming Power of Pentecost: Living in the Spirit Grace and peace be with you all on this blessed Feast of Pentecost, as we gather together to celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and reflect upon the profound influence it has on our lives as believers. Today, as we commemorate Sacred Music Sunday, let us unite our voices in praise and worship, and open our hearts to receive the timeless message of transformation and renewal that Pentecost brings. Our readings from the book of Joel, Galatians, Acts, and John guide us in understanding the significance of this day. May the Spirit speak to us, that we may be empowered to live as instruments of God's love and grace. I. The Promise of the Spirit's Outpouring (Joel 2:28-32) In the book of Joel, the prophet speaks of a future time when God will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh. The promise of the Holy Spirit is not limited to a chosen few, but it is extended to all who seek God with open hearts. Pentecost marks the fulfillm...

A Call to Share God's Blessings

Title: Spreading the Good News: A Call to Share God's Blessings Good morning, brothers and sisters in Christ. Today, we delve into a remarkable story from the pages of the Bible—a story that reveals not only the faithfulness of God but also our responsibility as believers to share the good news with others. The account of the four lepers at the gate of Samaria teaches us valuable lessons about the power of God's provision, the urgency of spreading the gospel, and the blessings that come from fulfilling our divine calling. Let us explore this inspiring narrative and glean insights that can impact our lives today. I. The Desperate Plight of the Lepers: Imagine the dire circumstances faced by the four lepers. They were outcasts, plagued by a terrible disease and living at the entrance of the city gate. Starvation loomed over Samaria due to a severe famine, and death seemed inevitable no matter what path they chose. It is in this desperation that they confronted their situation an...

The power of love

John 13:34-35 In the Gospel of John, Jesus tells his disciples, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." These words are as relevant today as they were when Jesus first spoke them. In a world that is increasingly divided by hatred and violence, we need to be reminded of the power of love. The story of the Kerala women who were lured into joining the Islamic State is a tragic reminder of the dangers of hatred and extremism. These women were young and vulnerable, and they were preyed upon by people who promised them a better life. But instead of finding a better life, they found themselves trapped in a world of violence and oppression. This story is a reminder that we need to be vigilant against the forces of hatred and extremism. We need to speak out against intolerance and discrimination. And we need to sh...

Travel to India starting

Tomorrow, on May 23rd, our flight from Houston to Dubai, and then to Delhi and Indore, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. In preparation for this, I had to wake up at 3:00 a.m. today, even though I felt tired and didn't want to get out of bed. Since it was my last day before a long four-week vacation, I was determined to go to work. There were many tasks and responsibilities I needed to address in order to mentally prepare myself for the upcoming break. During the toolbox meeting at 4:30 a.m., my supervisor acknowledged my upcoming vacation and wished me well. There were several projects that required inspection during my absence, but I reassured my supervisor that my assistant was fully capable and confident in handling them. I told him not to worry about the situation and to avoid putting unnecessary pressure on himself. I have faith that everything will be taken care of. After work, I arrived home around 4:00 p.m. and took my car for inspection, as my registration was due to expire at...
