Travel to India starting
Tomorrow, on May 23rd, our flight from Houston to Dubai, and then to Delhi and Indore, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. In preparation for this, I had to wake up at 3:00 a.m. today, even though I felt tired and didn't want to get out of bed. Since it was my last day before a long four-week vacation, I was determined to go to work. There were many tasks and responsibilities I needed to address in order to mentally prepare myself for the upcoming break. During the toolbox meeting at 4:30 a.m., my supervisor acknowledged my upcoming vacation and wished me well. There were several projects that required inspection during my absence, but I reassured my supervisor that my assistant was fully capable and confident in handling them. I told him not to worry about the situation and to avoid putting unnecessary pressure on himself. I have faith that everything will be taken care of. After work, I arrived home around 4:00 p.m. and took my car for inspection, as my registration was due to expire at the end of this month. Since I won't be here, I needed to complete the inspection as soon as possible. When I return in four weeks, it would be too late to renew the vehicle registration. Therefore, I completed the inspection and now need to go online to register and make the payment. Feeling exhausted, I turned on the TV and considered watching a movie. However, I soon dozed off and enjoyed a refreshing 30-minute nap. Upon waking up, I resumed watching the movie. Around 7:30 p.m., my wife returned from work, and together we began the final packing for our trip. I am contemplating going to work for a couple of hours tomorrow to finish up everything before our departure. Traveling to India is always exciting but also expensive. It requires careful planning, sometimes even a year in advance. On average, the expenses for three people, including all the associated costs, amount to $10,000 to $15,000. This usually depletes our savings, as we, like a typical middle-class family, strive to save around $3,000 to $5,000 per year. If we go to India every three years, it significantly impacts our savings balance. However, dwelling on financial matters will only elevate our blood pressure. Money comes and goes, and it is best not to overly stress about it.
