American Politics at a Crossroads: A Personal Reflection

Greetings everyone,

The landscape of American politics is currently in a fascinating state of flux. Yesterday, President Biden announced his decision to withdraw from running for another term and endorsed his Vice President, Kamala Harris, as the Democratic nominee to run against former President Trump. This unexpected move has created a vacuum in the Democratic Party and set the stage for a unique election cycle.

As a lifelong conservative, I have always supported the Republican Party and will continue to do so. However, my support for Trump during his last term was complicated. While I did not endorse him, I prayed for him to be granted God's wisdom to govern effectively. In many ways, I believe those prayers were answered. Trump's background as a businessman brought several positive changes, but his arrogant nature and pride were troubling. Although I wish he were a better servant of God, his personal and past life do not reflect that. Nevertheless, I trust that God's plans are beyond our understanding and that He sometimes chooses flawed individuals to lead nations, perhaps as a call for the people to return to Him.

During Trump's presidency, I often saw many self-proclaimed prophets making grand promises on his behalf. Some evangelists portrayed him as a redeemer or God's appointed man, which I found deeply concerning. As a believer, I hold that every ruler, from our first president to Biden, is positioned by God. It's not just about Trump, despite the claims of these false evangelists. Whether Trump is part of any biblical prophecy is known only to God, who ultimately places the right person in office.

This election cycle, I was initially not planning to vote for a presidential candidate. The prospect of having two very old individuals running did not appeal to me. However, with Biden stepping down, there is hope that younger candidates might emerge. Regardless of the candidates' ages, I will not be voting for the Democratic Party, and I will certainly not be voting for Trump. My choice for the presidential candidate will remain unselected on the voting machine, a decision I make with a clear conscience.

For every other position, I will be casting my vote for a conservative candidate. Unfortunately, both last time and this time, the presidential candidates do not align with my preferences.

In these turbulent times, I urge everyone to seek divine guidance and pray for our leaders, regardless of our political affiliations. May we all strive for a nation governed by wisdom, humility, and a sincere commitment to the common good.

Thank you for reading, and may God bless America.
